Christian Thielemann
Christian Thielemann (born 1959) Thielemann became principal
conductor at the Deutsche Oper Am Rhein in 1985. 1988-1992 he served as
Music Director of the Nuremberg Opera, and in 1993 he made his debut with the
Metropolitan Opera. In 1997 he became the General Music Director of the
Deutsche Opera Berlin. Thielemann became principal conductor and music director of the Munich Philharmonic in September 2004. From the 2012/2013 season he is scheduled to take over as chief conductor of Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden.
In 2000 Thielemann made his debut at the Bayreuth Festival and was named Musical Advisor in 2008.

Christian Thielemann's Bayreuth Festival Ring has been recorded and released on CD and DVD/Blu-ray.
In 2015 Christian Thielemann will conduct a new production of Tristan und Isolde at the Bayreuth Festival. Katharina Wagner will be stage director.
