Emanuel List (1888-1967 )
Emanuel List joined the Berlin State Opera in 1925, and debuted in the role of Pogner (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg). Later he portrayed King Mark (Tristan und Isolde), Hunding (Die Walküre) and Hagen (Götterdämmerung).
List had to leave Germany in 1933 when members of Jewish origin were dismissed from the ensemble at the Berlin State Opera (Staatsoper Berlin).
