Waltraud Meier as Isolde in Heiner Müller's production in Bayreuth (1993-99)

This wonderful production of Tristan und Isolde is now available on DVD.

Stage director for this production was Heiner Müller. The production was shown in Bayreuth the following years: 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997 and 1999. It was Waltraud Meier's debut as Isolde. It was Daniel Barenboim's second Tristan in Bayreuth - his first being the classic production by stage director Jean-Pierre Ponnelle, issued on DVD with René Kollo and Johanna Meier in the title roles.

Waltraud Meier: Liebestod from a production in Munich directed by Peter Konwitschny. Zubin Mehta is conducting the orchestra at the Bayreische Staatsoper München.
