Lisbeth Balslev

Lisbeth BalslevThe Danish soprano Lisbeth Balslev's sensational interpretation of Senta in Harry Kupfer's production of Der fliegende Holländer (Bayreuth 1978-85) made her a big international Wagner star.

Her other Wagner roles include Isolde, Brünnhilde, Sieglinde and Gutrune (a role she actually did one year in Bayreuth, 1986, in the Peter Hall production and she also did in Nikolaus Lehnhoff's Götterdämmerung in Munich).
