Poul Elming is one of many great Wagner singers from Denmark. His Siegmund and Parsifal rank among the very best, and his appearences at Bayreuth sent him off to an adventurous career all around the world, especially in Wagner roles. Now Elming Poul Elmingis general manager of The Aalborg Symphony Orchestra. His Siegmund in the Kupfer/Barenboim Ring from Bayreuth can be experienced on DVD. Elming is the man behind The Lauritz Melchior International Singing Competition, 6-13 November 2010.

Since Elming's appointment as general manager of The Aalborg Symphony Orchestra it has been his ambition to create a large-scale project which would attract extraordinary attention and bring new focus to the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra, our city and our region. The project Elming ended up with was The Lauritz Melchior International Singing Competition.
